About Morgan Friar
My Story
Welcome! I'm Morgan Friar, M.S. CCC-SLP, founder of Sweet Sounds Speech Therapy and Family Coaching. My journey began in the classroom as an elementary school teacher, where I discovered my passion for children's communication development. This foundation, combined with a decade of experience as a speech-language pathologist, has given me a unique perspective in supporting children's growth and learning.
My educational journey took me from Spelman College, where I earned my Bachelor's in Psychology, to Howard University in Washington DC, where I completed my Master's in Speech Pathology. As an ASHA certified Speech-Language Pathologist licensed in California, I've spent the last 10 years specializing in early childhood and autism support. My coast-to-coast experience spans diverse settings—from public schools and specialized clinics to in-home therapy—allowing me to develop a comprehensive approach to pediatric speech and language services.
My Approach
My approach celebrates neurodiversity and places each child's natural development at the center, weaving speech and language goals into playful, meaningful interactions. What truly sets my practice apart is my ability to connect deeply with clients—it's my superpower! I believe in looking at communication development through multiple lenses: functional, educational, and health-based.
Working collaboratively with families and care teams, I recognize that the most powerful progress happens when everyone works together to support a child's unique journey. From early intervention with infants and toddlers to school-age support, I'm committed to creating a warm, inclusive environment where every child can thrive.
Thank you for considering Sweet Sounds Speech Therapy and Family Coaching for your family's communication needs.
